The Five Items

These are five items chosen by me to relate it to the character I invented:
Leather jacket, silver locket with inscription, fortune-telling cards, business card and rugby ball

I was on my way to park, I was about to meet my old friend, Ricky whom I have never met for many years. I have never heard of any news about him and the last one was when I heard he was moving somewhere 20 years ago. 20 years, it has been a long time for me. I really missed that time, we were close friends, we were like brothers. But after he moved, we no longer kept in contact with each other, but I heard that he was doing well in his business.

'Hey', someone greeted me. I was shocked. A tall and handsome man was standing beside me. Even though I never saw him after 20 years, I knew it was him, I recognized his face well. "Ricky?''. "Yes" he replied. Then we shared our stories, what had happened after we lost contact. Then I realized he was carrying a rugby ball with him. I was shocked. I knew that rugby ball very well. It was given by me. It meant a lot for us. The ball was the one that we used to play together and we won many matches. The ball really meant a lot to us. The ball shared our story, our likeness.

"oh I forgot. Here is my business card.'' says Ricky. I looked at the card closely. I was shocked. It stated the business company that I knew very well. Not only me, I was sure everyone in the world knew about the company. It was a well-established business company. Stated on the card, "Ricky Benonza, Executive Officer of.....''

Then I asked him why he moved 20 years ago. He kept on silent for a few minutes before he nodded his head and showed me a silver locket with inscription. It was stated 'Jenny, forever yours'. I knew the locket well, it was Jenny's; his girlfriend. Jenny always wore that locket. It was given by him on their anniversary and she loved to wear it and she would until she died. I still remembered that moment. When she was dying, she asked Ricky to keep the locket for her, as a symbol of their love. I knew it was a tough day for him. I was not shocked he still kept it, I knew he loved her so much, and the locket was their symbol of love, and kept him thinking of Jenny. Then he told me the reason why he moved 20 years ago. It was because he was so sad and he wanted to feel the new experience and tried to forget Jenny. But he couldn't. Jenny was his strength.

Then I asked him whether we could meet again. "Wait" he replied. He took out a deck of fortune-telling cards and then shuffled it and arranged it in six rows. After that, he picked one of them and said, "Okay. How about next week?''. I was shocked, he never changed at all. I knew what he was doing. He was checking for the right time to meet with the cards, he has never changed, not at all. I still remembered that he used to do that before our rugby tournament. Surprisingly, we won many games. Thanks to our wizard, Ricky.

It was already 10p.m. "Sorry Eric, I have to go now, I have some work to do. Next time eh buddy'' he said. I just nodded my head and replied, "Next time. Can't wait to share more stories with you. I have a lot to tell you''. "Oh. Before I go, please take it. It is not much, just a simple present from a old friend to his good buddy.'' he said. I opened the wrapper and was shocked. It was a leather jacket that I used to dream of having when I was still young. He still remembered it. Then I realized that I was crying; touched by the friendship that had never faded away.
